Ok here's one. Your guild vs my guild.
The run from Beacons Perch to Droknors is probably the hardest challange in the game. I know thats not inventive as it is well known but I can't think of anything thats harder than that. I'll get back to you tho if I think of something

Hmm.. A droknars run by a Mo/?? Will have to look into that. I can see it now dragging every mob in snake dance down to Camp Rankor. I am sure the guards outside the city would love that!!

Thought about this a little bit and what would be challenging and i came up with a couple different ones. Both are in the realm of the pve and both are in missions, which would require a team and are unlikely to be able to be pulled off, but they seem possible.
1. Save sardia from the mursaat and see what happens if you are succesful.
2. Save the brechnar ironhammer in the begining of the ring of fire mission and see what happens if you are succesful.

I can tell you that (although I haven't done it solo) - he just runs off to the left of your starting point until he reaches his final waypoint and just stands around bored
On my first time in the mission I thought you've got to save him, so we fought the Mursaat and I healed him the whole time.

Mo/W Bspirit/Protbond or spirit/Balanced Stance/Mend/Breeze/Rush/Shield of Judgement/Sprint ?
Probably needs some tweaking, might have to make do with no Sprint and use Bonettis or Essencebond instead. Feh. Not an ideal build for the run, but its only the Mesmers you're worried about anyway. Guess you could just run blessed sig and really bring home every mob on the map.
My challenge? Solo the natures renewal tress in the UW with a build that makes it past the Ataxes too.

Well, when i saw this post i though to myself : "HMmm interesting" but since i was at work i couldnt try it myself so i asked a friend to do it and surprisingly he did it on his first try actually dying only once near rankor lol...
his build was the typical 55hp build and his skills was something like that :
Protective bond
Watchful spirit
Mending
Balth spirit
Peace and Harmony {E}
Sprint
Balanced stance
Blessed signet
So on the start cast everything to get your bond to lvl 17 and mending to regen 4, Balth spirit and watchful spirit.
then... run ....
you can cast P&H now if you want to regain your energy while you are running but it isnt really necessary you could just regain it using blessed signet...
before aggroing the avicara group near the wurms cast P&H on yourself, since there is a nasty necro in that group whos doing strip enchantment you dont want to loose your health regen so P&H serve as a cover enchantment here...
There is also one more thing in lornar's pass... near the end there are some mesmer grawl (sp?) try to keep away from those im not sure if they are using phantasm but if they do your as good as dead hehe
Always try to keep P&H up as cover enchantment and since it gives you that nice energy regen it really isnt that bad to keep it on all the time.
in the middle zone watch out because there is that group on the left whos coming for you... if you cant get bond to be at lvl17 on the first try... rezone and try again.
After that it isnt that hard... actually my friend died to a group of azure and giants i dont really know why lol... but if you ever happen to die... youll have 1hp... dont worry just get your prot focus and youll have 63hp instead.
that's about it.. gl to who ever try that

In this thread I want to set some challenges to see if a monk can overcome them solo using invention and skill.
I'll start you with an easy one:
Challenge 1: Walk out of the Ice caves of sorrow into Talus Chute. Go past the res shrine and across the bridge. You will come to a group of 7 imps. Kill them solo (as a monk, any build, any secondary).
|
Killed them using my W/R
Eviserate / Penetrating / Tiger Fury / Berserk Stance / Heal Sig / Endure Pain / To the Limit / Whirling Defense
W/R FTW

As an upgrade the the challenge that started this - forget the Ice Caves, how about the Ice Imps outside Marhans Grotto? Now THAT'S something I'd like to see.

Soloing Ice Imps is really easy for Warriors. Don't bother though, the drops are terrible.
Peace,
